Driveways, set out straight.

A driveway is the first thing anyone sees and the biggest slab most homes will ever have. Nick sets out the falls, joints and edges before a truck arrives, so the finished surface drains where it should and reads even the whole way up.

Exposed aggregate, washed back by hand.

The finish Nick gets asked for most, and the one his reviews single out. The stone you pick changes the whole look, from a pale white rock through to dark greys and warm honey tones. Getting it even comes down to timing the wash, which is judgement rather than a machine setting.

Shed and house slabs, to line and level.

Shed builders work to a date, and that date depends on the slab. Nick forms up, reinforces and pours to the engineer's set out, then finishes flat so the frame goes together without packing. Sheds, garages, house slabs, extensions and outbuildings.

Pool surrounds, done once around the water.

A pool surround has to fall away from the water, sit level with the coping and feel right underfoot in bare feet. It is fiddly, tight-access work and it is a lot of what Nick pours. Several of the reviews on this site are pool surrounds.

Paths, steps and the awkward bits.

The jobs other trades would rather not quote. Side paths with no machine access, curved steps that need formwork built on site, entries into period homes where nothing is square. Nick barrows it in and protects everything on the way through.
